FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a Podiatrist do?

Podiatrists are degree-trained, highly specialist clinicians who have undertaken years of training to diagnose and treat all foot and ankle complaints.

What is the difference between a podiatrist and a chiropodist?

Strictly speaking, there is no difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist. However, the title “Chiropodist” is being fazed out, with the title “Podiatrist” replacing it. All Podiatrists are regulated by the Health & Care Professional Council (HCPC), so check the register to ensure your Podiatrist is HCPC-registered.

when do I need to pay for my appointment?

We kindly ask that you make payment for your appointment in advance. This reduces unnecessary time spent in clinic and allows for complete contact-free payment. Prior payment can be made over the phone with a debit or credit card, and you will be emailed a receipt.

How much Will my treatment cost?

Details of our treatments including cost and length of appointment can be found on our treatment page.

do i need to prepare or bring anything with me to my appointment?

Please bring an up to date list of prescribed medicines to your appointments. We also ask that you remove all nail varnish to allow us to accurately assess and treat your nails effectively. If you are attending an appointment for an MSK/biomechanical assessment, please also bring a pair of well-worn shoes.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable clothes, with loose-fitting trousers or similar, as this will allow us to fully assess your legs and feet.

do you accept medical insurance policies?

Unfortunately, we do not accept medical insurance at this time. However, you may be able to claim the appointment cost back from your insurance company. We advise seeking advice from your insurer for further information.

Will i be able to drive after my appointment?

For our minor surgery appointments, we advise that you do not drive for 24-hours after your treatment. This is due to the use of local anaesthetic in these appointments. For all our other appointments you should be able to drive as normal. For further information please contact your driving insurance provider.

are you an nhs clinic?
